UPDATE: May 23, 2012 I finally found some launch photos, from Spaceflight Now, and PM has a brief summary of what's next for Dragon as it chases down the ISS.
---------------------------------------
Finally, some fun space news.
SpaceX launched it's Dragon capsule this morning on a mission to the International Space Station. It's the first privately developed spaceship (and rocket) to be sent to the ISS. On this test flight the Dragon is carrying 1,150 pounds of cargo bound for the station. SpaceX has a contract with NASA for 12 cargo flights to the station using the Falcon 9 booster and the Dragon capsule. In addition, SpaceX has a development contract to add human rating to the capsule for crew transportation to low Earth orbit.
Spaceflight Now has coverage here and here.
And here is the NASA story.
