Brothers,  
Your prayers are requested for Sir Knight Bill Kinsella, Past Grand Knight of St. Katharine Drexel Council #14011, Past Faithful Navigator of Bishop McNamara 4th Degree Assembly #384, and current District Deputy (DD) for our neighboring District 5. 
 
For our newer members who may not know Bill, Bill also served as Past Grand Knight (PGK ) of our own Bishop McNamara Council #1622 for the 1999-2001 Fraternal Years, before he left to established the new Council #14011 as it's Chartering Grand Knight.  He is also a Past Chapter President (PCP) of our local St Elizabeth Ann Seton Chapter of Grand Knights.

Bill and Peg were active members of St. John the Evangelist Church before helping establish the St. Katharine Drexel Church.

I just visited with Bill Kinsella, DD # 5. Bill is in Room 4023 at Frederick Memorial Hospital, he has requested that the phone calls be at a minimum as he is truly very weak. Bill has a very dangerous strain of Pneumonia, and it can very serious in people over 65.

I ask that you please keep both Bill & Peg Kinsella in your Prayers.

2008 Christmas Party

Our Christmas Party was held Saturday night in the cafeteria at St. John's.  There was plenty of food and drink, Christmas singing (mostly in key), and even a surprise visit from Santa Claus.

Family of the Month/Year

During our meeting on Monday night, Grand Knight Bill Wierzbicky presented two long coming awards.  Jim Shabelski and his family were awarded the Family of the Year, and Bob Ordonio and his family were presented the Family of the Month (from a while back).  Congrats to both of these Brothers and their families.

The picnic grounds at Ft. Detrick hosted our family picnic on Saturday.  Thanks to everyone who came out, with special thanks to John and Bernie for making it happen.

Knights of Columbus Pins

Brothers, please wear your Knights of Columbus Pin to Mass. This gives us the visibility needed to bring in new members. We've actually had transferring Knights say that they had been looking for us for months. If you've lost your pin, replacements are available at any council meeting for $1.75, our cost.

Family Programs

FAMILY OF THE MONTH/YEAR-Coordinator: Rob McNickle. 

Each month the Council nominates a family (Brother, parishioner, or not) who has made valuable contributions to the Council, St. John the Evangelist, or the Frederick community in the spirit of the mission of the Knights of Columbus.

This family is then recognized at a Council meeting, Mass, or other suitable venue by our Grand Knight and presented with an award certificate designating them as our Council Family of the Month.

Nominations are accepted from all Council members.  Please include the family names and a brief description of their contributions.  Submit nominations to Rob McNickle by the 5th of the subsequent month.  The Family of the Month will be announced at the regular business meeting on the third Monday of each month.

JOINT Knights of Columbus / Catholic Daughters Memorial Mass and Pot-luck Dinner.

Mass Location: St. John the Evangelist Church, Frederick, MD.

Schedule:
7:00-7:30pm - Assembly in Church.
7:30pm - Ceremony for recently deceased Daughters and Knights.
7:45pm - Memorial Mass.
8:30pm - Dinner in St. John Regional School gym, next to church. Pot-luck Drop off food items in school kitchen (in basement) after 6pm. Drinks and accessories will be provided.
9:30pm - Cleanup

This major social and fraternal event is open to ALL family members and friends of Bishop McNamara Council #1622, Bishop McNamara Assembly #384, Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Chapter of Grand Knights (Western Maryland), and Court of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton #278 of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas.

Please send the names of family or friends to be remembered during Mass to Dave Satterfield, phone (301) 695-9633, by November 7 for inclusion in program booklet. Please put this event on your calendar and join us. Pot-luck food items can be dropped off in school kitchen (in basement) after 6pm. Drinks and accessories will be provided.
